The Richard S Caliguiri Great Race

On the last Sunday of September, the starting gun sounds for a true Pittsburgh tradition: The Richard S. Caliguiri Great Race. Established by Mayor Richard S. Caliguiri in 1977 as a community "fun run", the Great Race has become a world class 5K and 10K road race.

Since then The Great Race, presented by Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield, has grown to become Pennsylvania’s largest 10K—and one of the largest 10K races in the nation!

A 5K run and fitness walk now provides an opportunity for people of all ages and fitness levels to take part in Great Race Sunday.

Everyone registered will receive a t-shirt. Participants are also eligible to win prizes at the post-race raffle at the finish line in downtown Pittsburgh.
